Alek: What are your artistic inspirations? Nature, TV, everyday life, something else?

Jordan: hmmm .... I guess I would say "everything" ... I don't really think about it you know? It's not like I say "Goddamnit, I'm going to go take a walk in the woods and figure this motherfucker out...." .... hahahhaa... no no ... well you know: I guess I could say my inspiration is laughter... yeah... laughter... like Robert Plant says: "does anybody remember laughter?"

Alek: How do you come up with the crazy ideas that make their way into your finished projects? Is there a lot of collaboration with your clients or do you just sit at home and continually pump out the amazingly original and funny stuff?

Jordan: There is little collaboration with clients. That's part of the deal: they let me (or me and martin) run with it. That's what we do. But no, it's not a constant stream of good ideas! Every site has a trail of shitty tests that lead up to me getting into that zone. It's a horrid process... very bi-polar... I can become a bit depressed when I'm searching for my footing ... but then I get real high once I know what the fuck I'm doing. At the end of the day it's a trade off that I'll take.

Alek: What formal training have you had in art/design and software? If little or none, what motivated you to learn it yourself and what do you find the be the most helpful resource for teaching yourself? Any favorite Flash forums, etc.?

Jordan: No formal training. I'm just one of those kids that grew up making stuff by myself and with my friends. I think you can trace my motivation back to having real shitty jobs after high school. So trying "graphic design" just made sense for me. My wife, then girlfriend, cold called all these people and landed me an internship at a little shop in San Antonio.

Alek: How did you get started in the web/graphic design business. Was money ever a problem, or were you lucky in that regard?

Jordan: I don't think it's been luck! I work all the goddamned time. And when I'm not working I'm filling out some goddamned interview (hahahaha)... but on the money tip... well... there's like a turning point... one year you are begging people to let them do a site for cheap and the next year you're turning away "jet ski money" because there's just too much demand and you have to stay selective.
